Company Profile

Kevin Rowntree is the Director of  Theatre Services.  A skilled theatre practitioner with over 15 years of professional experience in performance and directing and teaching.  This includes extensive experience of providing both vocational and academic training at Universities (University of Leeds, New York University, University of Hong Kong), Drama Schools (Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, Bretton Hall, Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts) and  schools & colleges throughout the United Kingdom.  Kevin is also a qualified stage combat instructor for the British Academy of Dramatic Combat.

Previous clients have included: The British Council, English Touring Theatre, Salisbury Playhouse, Crucible Theatre, Dead Earnest Theatre, National Museum of Photography Film & Television, Ludlow Assembly Rooms, North Yorkshire County Council, Durham City Council and HM Prison Service.  Theatre Services offers the following range of specialized products and services which are aimed at all sections of the Performing Arts Industry.

Experience includes running a Theatre and Drama department at a major regional college, co-ordinating Dip HE/Degree schemes at University, providing performance training at a number of drama schools and designing distance learning programmes.  I am fully conversant with training requirements at further and higher education levels and I have intimate knowledge of the National Curriculum, AS/A2 Theatre Studies, BTEC Drama/Acting and AVCE Performing Arts.  I have previously  introduced a range of exciting additional qualifications, such as Guildhall Acting Grades and BADC Certificate in Stage Combat, to traditional training programmes at FE level.  It is worth noting that these additional qualifications attract generous funding from the Learning and Skills Council.
